Just as I remember! The smell, the taste every thing is just as good as it has always been! They added more items to their menu when I visited seven years ago and they added to the menu again. We just visited the week of 4th of July. My husband had never been to the island before. I had to take him to my favorite restaurants and places. Coney Island is as great as I remembered. This time we went for burgers, breakfast sandwiches, more burgers and breakfast sandwiches on our last morning in town. Great fast, friendly service. They are a very busy little out door spot. The prices were very reasonable compared to other places. Most every other restaurant was over priced in food, soda and alcohol beverages. Coney Island was worth the wait! I miss it already!

Quick and easy place to grab a bite. The food is ok. Not bad, not amazing. The fries taste like they're made from frozen, but have a tasty seasoning salt. They're cash only, there's an ATM at the arcade if you need one.

After a full morning of arcade playing, glass bottom boat viewing, and golf cart touring, we were getting kind of hungry, so before we travelled over to a tour of the casino, we were hankering for a quick lunch. The name "Coney Island West" seemed to suggest that we'd find what we were looking for, so we sauntered up to the order window, found a nearby table, and relaxed.
I ordered a double cheeseburger and a beer, while wife had a hot dog and an ice tea. As might be expected with an eatery named for one of the most famous beachside resorts, accoutrements were fairly basic - plastic silverware, simple napkins, catchup/mustard/pickle relish in dinky squeeze packets. But that was fine, as this was the cheapest of the five meals we had on Catalina. My food filled me up, nothing more, beer was adequate, company was good, mood was cheerful, people watching was entertaining, and our view of life at that moment was positive. What one always needs!
